
Suba Das is an award-winning theatre director, producer and dramaturg. He is internationally renowned for his pioneering work developing new theatre, opera and dance.
Previously Creative Director of the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres; Artistic Director and Chief Executive of internationally renowned new writing theatre company HighTide; and Associate Director of Leicester Curve; his freelance credits include world premiere productions for The Royal Opera, the National Theatre of Scotland, the National Centre for Circus Arts, the Young Vic and Theatre Royal Stratford East.
He is a Trustee of the Theatres Trust (appointed by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport; the North Music Trust (which operates the iconic Glasshouse (formerly Sage Gateshead) and the Royal Northern Sinfonia); and the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation.
A Cambridge English graduate (specialising in the works of Toni Morrison, Samuel Beckett, and Shakespeare in Performance), he trained on the Birkbeck MFA in Theatre Directing and as a Resident Director at the National Theatre and English Touring Theatre. He is a 2023 graduate of the National Film and Television School’s prestigious Directors’ Series.
